Moving Natural: Primal Pit Paste

I'll be honest, I don't really know how to write blog posts about products... but I'll start with explaining my reasoning for doing this. 

I've recently decided to start moving to natural products. 

It all started when my good friend, Reagan Allen, told me that she was making the switch also. At first I didn't really understand the reasoning, but I thought it was just some type of fad or something different to do. 

Then I really started reading into more and it is crazy some of the stuff and chemicals that come in products we buy that we use everyday. 

Aluminum, which is linked to causing breast cancer in women and an increased risk of Alzheimer's Disease (https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/myths/antiperspirants-fact-sheet), is in most deodorant's that people use, specifically the kinds I had been using. 

So I decided to give the whole natural thing try. I'm still in the process of switching some of my products over, but I want to document the things that I come across that I like, or maybe don't like along the way. 

Primal Pit Paste. I was a little weary of this at first because I hate the word pit. Pit. Pits. Armpits. The word moist doesn't bother me, but pits makes me a little squirmy. I still gave it a try though because you know don't judge a book by its cover, or its name I guess.

The weirdest part is probably that you have to rub it on with your fingers and it doesn't work as a cover up. It will take your body a little time to get used to it because it naturalizes your smell. 

I've been most drawn to the Unscented Primal Pit Paste, but it comes in a lot of different scents. I got the six-pack sampler (mini sizes) which comes in Lavender, Coconut Lime, Jacked-Up Jasmine, Royal & Rogue, Thyme & Lemon Grass, and Orange Creamsicle. This gives you a chance to find what smell you like the most, but you don't have to waste money on an entire jar. These are scented with essential oils so if you have sensitive skin, it can make your skin a little irritated. 

You only have to apply a pea size under each arm, but so far it's been working great for me. On days where I am more active I will apply it two times throughout the day, but that's just because I sweat a lot and I'm always afraid of smelling bad. (I haven't had any complaints from my friends or family yet though).

Overall I just want to start treating my body better whether it's what I put in it or on it. I know it seems like everything can cause some sort of disease in today's society, but what's the harm in trying to be as kind to your body as possible. 

Look good, feel good (and smell good). 

This is just the start of this journey and hopefully I'll get better at writing about it along the way.
